The Poderosas Fellowship FY27 Applications
The deadline to apply is Friday, July 3rd 2026, at 6:00P.M. (ET).
As the only Latinx-serving community fund in the state, the Latino Equity Fund recognizes the critical need for development professionals within Latinx-serving organizations. The Poderosas Fellowship will expand and strengthen the pipeline of development leaders who authentically represent and champion Latinx progress across the nonprofit ecosystem in our state.
What is the Poderosas Fellowship?
A homage to LEF Co-founder Aixa Beauchamp and the incredible Latinas behind LEF's success, the Poderosas Fellowship is an annual investment of $25,000 designed to empower Latinas in advancement, development, and philanthropy roles.
With dedicated funding and tailored professional development, this fellowship will equip emerging Latinas with the skills, resources, and networks needed to thrive. Poderosas will gain exclusive access to mentorship, leadership training, a professional development stipend and strategic connections that open doors to new possibilities. We envision the fellowship evolving over time, expanding access to more individuals while fostering a strong alumni network that remains actively engaged with the Boston Foundation and its community partners.
Now in its second year, Poderosas will join a powerful community of change agents committed to reshaping the future of philanthropy—because when diverse voices lead, impact follows.
Process
The Poderosas Fellowship application requires a written letter of interest or a video submission responding to the prompt below. Applications will be carefully reviewed by a diverse community selection team, composed of LEF advisory board members, Poderosas Fellowship alumni, and other community partners. All reviewers complete a conflict-of-interest disclosure form to ensure a fair and equitable process. Should a conflict-of-interest arise, these individuals would not participate in this portion of the review process.
Finalists will be chosen through a deliberative process led by the LEF advisory board, with final selections presented by the director. Now in its second year, LEF will award five fellows with $5,000 each, totaling $25,000 in fellowship funding. These stipends are intended to support professional development opportunities that strengthen leadership and advance one's career in philanthropy.
