The Permanent Fund for Boston is an unrestricted fund that endows the Boston Foundation's work in the region. This gives us the opportunity to respond nimbly to the most critical needs of the people of Greater Boston, which is a vital piece of our mission as the region's community foundation. It means money donated in 1917 can have an impact in 2011 -- and money placed in the fund today can address needs we cannot yet envision in the future.
