Jean McGuire Educational and Health Fund

Jean McGuire

Founded in 2022, the Jean McGuire Educational and Health Fund was established to honor Jean's long legacy of supporting and improving the lives of young people in Greater Boston. Throughout her life, from helping to found METCO, to serving as the first Black social worker to work in the Boston Public Schools system, to her election in 1981 as the first Black woman to serve on the Boston School Committee, Jean's commitment to improving the lives of Boston youth has been unquestioned.

The Jean McGuire Educational and Health Fund is now accepting donations, seeded with a $20,000 grant from the Boston Foundation. To donate to the fund, review the instructions below. Donations are accepted by check and credit card. See below for full information. Donations by check should be payable to the Boston Foundation and sent to the address below with "Jean McGuire Educational and Health Fund" in the memo line.
