Racial Wealth Gap Partnership

Help close a $2 million matching gift for the Racial Wealth Gap Partnership, a 40+ member coalition spanning banking, housing, government, healthcare, and education that is working to increase homeownership in underserved communities. If the Partnership raises $3.5 million by January 2027, an anonymous donor will release an additional $2 million in funding. Together, these resources would enable more than 150 more families to purchase a home and generate an estimated $40 million in home equity over the next decade. TBF has committed $500K. Every $25K supports one family on a path to homeownership and wealth building.

Building Pathways to Meaningful Careers

Boston Day and Evening Academy (BDEA)

Boston's only in-district alternative high school, serving students for whom traditional schools haven't worked, is planning its first career pathways program, connecting coursework in health careers, construction, or financial services with dual enrollment and paid work-based learning. TBF is supporting the planning – funding is needed for launch.

Boston Health Experiential Learning Pathways (HELP) Pilot

A partnership between the City of Boston’s Office of Youth Employment & Opportunity, Boston Public Schools, the Boston Private Industry Council, and Northeastern University, this pilot program takes students from a paid internship all the way to a guaranteed job or college seat: a real pathway from BPS classroom to healthcare career. TBF is funding Year 1.

Franklin Cummings Tech (FCT)

This institution with a long history training Boston residents for in-demand careers in tech and skilled trades is at an exciting moment — recently moving into a brand new facility in Nubian Square. At the center of the model is a paid co-op program that's producing stellar results: graduates earn $57k on average one year out, up from a $36k household income at entry: 58% complete in three years compared to a 21% six-year rate at MA community colleges. FCT is scaling from 90 to 240 students by 2029 and needs staff to recruit the employer partners who'll pay them. TBF has made a substantive grant to support this exciting initiative.

Madison Park High School / Boston Private Industry Council

Boston's only public voc-tech school is partnering with the Boston Private Industry Council to expand its healthcare co-op program, giving juniors and seniors real paid experience with employers before they graduate. TBF is contributing $50k and encourages aligned donors to consider joining us.

Food Link & Food For Free

Food Link and Food For Free have partnered with a Lawrence-based commercial producer to rescue food from planned overproduction and redirect roughly 20,000 meals a week to people who need them.

Every $1 invested delivers ~$10 in food to the community

GreenRoots

Environmental justice meets food justice in Chelsea and East Boston. GreenRoots is upgrading its Teaching Kitchen with audio-visual equipment so homebound residents can join classes online, and building a Food Justice Corridor connecting food access points across the neighborhood. TBF is funding this work through its Meeting the Moment: Sustaining Families Fund.

Our ongoing commitment to supporting vital food programs and a stronger regional system to address hunger.
Prompted by rising food insecurity and cuts to federal food programs, the Meeting the Moment: Sustaining Families initiative was launched in August 2025, building partnerships with donors, civic organizations and nonprofits in a multi-part effort to address hunger and food insecurity in Eastern Massachusetts.

Maverick Landing Community Services

A trusted anchor in East Boston's Latino community since 2007, MLCS is piloting a grab and go Produce Hub connecting surplus produce to residents, with a vision to grow into a citywide network. A donor has already stepped up with $150,000; now it needs a match.

Medway Village Food Pantry

A community-run pantry that's fed 1,800+ neighbors a year for two decades, with demand up over 200% in five years, has secured a larger space to unite two pantries under one roof.
