Natalie Herter joined TBF in September 2026 as Chief Investment Officer, responsible for leading, executing, and monitoring the investment strategy of TBF in alignment with its long-term financial objectives.
Natalie brings nearly two decades of experience in institutional investment management and a deep commitment to helping mission-driven organizations advance their work. Prior to joining the Foundation, Natalie served as Director of Investments for the Mount Holyoke College investment office. As a member of the small team responsible for managing the College’s endowment, she focused on identifying and building long-term relationships with investment managers across asset classes and markets. She also played a key role in setting investment policy and strategy, portfolio and risk management, and building the investment office’s processes, team, and operations.
Previously, Natalie spent over a decade at Cambridge Associates where she ultimately served as a Managing Director and Investment Team lead in the Endowment & Foundation practice, managing clients and portfolios with total assets of roughly $4 billion. In that role, Natalie partnered closely with a range of institutions including community foundations, private foundations, colleges and universities, and other nonprofits, to invest their long-term assets. She advised on investment policy setting, risk and liquidity management, asset allocation, portfolio construction, manager selection, and overall investment strategy.
Natalie holds a B.A. from Middlebury College, where she graduated magna cum laude and played lacrosse. She is a CFA charterholder and a member of the CFA Society Boston.
