Data Engagement Intern, Asian Community Fund
Reports To: Program and Development Manager, ACF

Hybrid Schedule (subject to change): In-office 1 day a week either Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday. Remote work usually Monday and Friday. Available for in-person community convenings and events during evenings or weekends as needed.
Position Budgeted: $25/hour
Position Summary
The Data Engagement Intern will support the data entry and maintenance, program operations, and outreach efforts of the Asian Community Fund (ACF) and Asian Business Empowerment Council (ABEC) at the Boston Foundation. Duties may include database management, event support, and research for the purpose of building a rich community of AAPI nonprofits, businesses, and resources across Massachusetts.
This role will work in a hybrid environment (see above) with a mix of in-office and virtual work for a total of 10-15 hours per week during the 2025-2026 school year, as well as the possibility for work during July and August 2025; 8 weeks for Summer 2025, 16 weeks for Fall 2025 semester, 16 weeks for Spring 2026 semester, with flexibility for school schedules. Priority will be given to candidates who are able to work during the summer in addition to the 2025-2026 school year.
Essential Functions
- Support the development, launch, and maintenance of databases featuring AAPI nonprofits and small businesses in Massachusetts;
- Assist with program operations for the AAPI Arts and Culture Collaborative, including taking meeting minutes, synthesizing next steps, and supporting the launch of a statewide AAPI arts & culture events calendar;
- Help maintain and update ACF and ABEC general contacts, donors, and partners lists;
- Research as applicable for database outreach and program management;
- Support data entry to track new fundraising prospects;
- Event support as needed, including ACF’s 2025 gala and other signature events.

Qualifications
Preparation, Knowledge, Previous Experience:
- High school completion, or equivalent experience; and
Skills, Abilities, Competencies:
- Strong attention to detail;
- Experience researching, maintaining, and managing databases large data sets, and/or contact lists.
- Experience working with data and research;
- Strong written and verbal communication skills;
- Proficiency working in Google Sheets or Excel;
- Familiarity with CRM database systems (e.g., Salesforce) is a plus;
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment; and
- Cultural competency (the ability to effectively interact with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds), strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact well with a diverse range of people.
Working Conditions & Physical Demands:
- Ability to work at workstation for long periods of time;
- Ability to use a computer keyboard for extended periods of time; and
- Ability to work on-site and remotely, as required.
