State House Rally Draws a Diverse Group of Passionate Supporters for "An Act to Further Narrow the Achievement Gap"

A rousing, information-packed rally was held at the State House today by the Race to the Top Coalition, convened by the Boston Foundation to promote educational equity across the Commonwealth. The event took place on the same day that charter schools throughout the state are holding their random admissions lotteries to assign just 2,200 charter seats from more than 13,600 applicants who signed up in hopes of getting into a charter. Surrounded by charter school students from across the state, parents, educators and business leaders spoke in support of "An Act to Further Narrow the Achievement Gap."
