There at the Beginning: Boston Back in Motion
The Boston Foundation and numerous partners launched a month-long effort in April 2021 to inspire kids to run, jump and play! Beginning April 1, Boston Back in Motion offered an online toolkit and daily fitness challenges for students grades 1 through 8.
The program was designed to help classes, small groups, afterschool programs and individual kids stay active, following a long season of being cooped up at home. And there are prizes, including grants for the Boston Public Schools that have the highest participation rates. Several Boston-based institutions signed on as partners, including the Red Sox Foundation, the Boston Bruins Foundation, New England Charitable Foundation, the Boston Athletic Association and Blue Cross Blue Shield Massachusetts.
