The Free for All Endowment fund announces $283,500 in grants to support broader access to music and cultural programming

July 12, 2024

Boston – The Boston Foundation today announced the 13 nonprofit partners receiving a total of $283,500 in 2024 grants from the Foundation’s Free for All Endowment Fund to support access to music and other cultural programming in Greater Boston.

Since its inception in 2016, the Free for All Endowment Fund has granted over $1 million to large and small organizations to ensure that everyone from the Boston region—children, adults, and families—will have regular and permanent access to the rich world of classical, orchestral music and related cultural programming. Organizations applying for grants strive to respond to the moment by expanding programming and engaging different audiences across Greater Boston.

“With this cycle, we sought to reach far beyond the traditional bounds of the Free for All Endowment Fund, attracting new partners that represent a fuller range of the transformational change, growth, and accountability happening in Classical music across Greater Boston,” said Catherine T. Morris, Director for Arts and Creativity at the Boston Foundation. “We are excited to support these organizations and ensembles, their diverse programming, connection to their communities and all they provide for those who live in them.”

Seven of the thirteen grantee partners had never received a grant from the Free for All Endowment Fund.
