Civics, Education and the New Political Landscape

Although many parts of the country have seen marches and protests in response to last year's presidential election, the United States lags most highly developed, democratic states when it comes to voter turnout. Our own Commonwealth is ranked dead last among states in terms of competitive legislative races. This is true at a time when it has never been more important to impart the importance of government, civics and electoral politics at all levels to the next generation. 

At this forum, representatives from the Boston Foundation and Tisch College for Civic Life at Tufts University discussed the importance of civics education in Massachusetts.
