Research shows that the most critical period for child development is the first 1,000 days of a child's life. That fact presents an opportunity to work with both children and parents as they strive to prepare children for success during this particularly important period.
This forum explored multiple models for leveraging cross-sector collaborations to transform the systems that can improve the health outcomes of young children, outcomes that can have effects into adulthood.
As part of the Vision 2020 strategic plan, the Boston Foundation committed to exploring and supporting an early childhood strategy that addresses this critical period in child development. To launch this work, the Foundation is hosting a series of forums and convenings throughout the coming year that highlight opportunities and challenges in the early childhood space.
