Community Foundation Relief Efforts After Ian: A TBF Giving Guide
In the aftermath of Hurricane Ian's landfall in Florida, Community Foundations in the state are quickly taking steps to support their residents in the wake of this devastating storm. If you're looking for ways to support, here are a few efforts we know of by Community Foundations:
- Community Foundation of Sarasota County: Hurricane Ian Relief and Recovery Fund: be sure to list the fund name, Suncoast Disaster Recovery Fund, when making a donation.
- The Community Foundation of Tampa Bay.
- The Collier Community Foundation in Naples: The Collier Comes Together Hurricane Disaster Relief Fund to support Naples area nonprofits.
- Collaboratory (formerly the SW Florida Community Foundation) in Fort Myers: The SWFL Emergency Relief Fund, a disaster relief fund to support nonprofits helping those affected by Ian - 100% of funds support SWFL nonprofits.
- The Manatee Community Foundation in Bradenton: MCF Disaster Relief Fund is supporting Hurricane Ian response efforts in Manatee County through a partnership and a 1:1 match with the Bishop Parker Foundation, up to $75,000. Your gift is tax-deductible and will be used to make grants to local nonprofit organizations providing response and relief. They partner with others to ensure that all resources are leveraged for the most good, and all dollars stay in Manatee County.
- Givewell Community Foundation: United Community Relief Fund.
- The Miami Foundation: Florida Grassroots Hurricane Community Recovery Fund.
- Gulf Coast Community Foundation: Hurricane Ian Disaster Relief Fund.
- Charlotte Community Foundation: Charlotte County Disaster Relief Fund.
