Budgeted Salary: $15.00/hour

Position Summary:

The Research intern will work with the Program and Policy Manager to implement a research study on Boston’s early childhood workforce. The intern will aid in survey data collection, data management, literature searches and collaborate with external partners.

Essential Functions:

  • Communicate with bilingual survey participants through email, phone, and text to collect data;
  • Manage survey data entry and storage;
  • Aid in the production of data-driven, policy-oriented research and recommendations on topics related to Boston’s early educators’ workforce pipeline, including education, training, and internship opportunities; and
  • Communicate research in ways that are accessible to a range of non-technical audiences.

Preparation, Knowledge, Previous Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Education or Policy, or equivalent experience.

Skills, Abilities, Competencies:

  • Strong written and oral communication skills, including interpersonal communication, public speaking and presentation skills;
  • Comfort and flexibility working across a wide range of issue areas;
  • Ability to give and receive criticism constructively and meet tight deadlines under pressure;
  • Ability to interact with a diverse range of people;
  • Flexible, collegial, and supportive toward constituents and colleagues; and
  • Bilingual skills to effectively communicate in English and Spanish.

Working Conditions & Physical Demands

  • The ability to remain stationary and work on a computer for approximately
  • 80% of the work day required; and
  • Ability to carry up to 15 pounds.
