The Assistant Director of Leadership Giving works with a dedicated team of gift officers to achieve revenue goals for the Foundation’s fundraising priorities. The position requires a strong donor orientation able to identify, cultivate, solicit, and close major gifts in collaboration with others in a coordinated moves management system. This position also has responsibility for the strategic growth and management of the Annual Campaign for Civic Leadership.
- Manage a personal portfolio of potential donors for cultivation and solicitation of priority initiatives and giving opportunities, including major gifts for TBF initiatives, endowment/legacy gifts, and annual giving;
- With support from the Associate Vice President (AVP), develop, refine and implement a strategic fundraising plan for growth of the Annual Campaign (ACCL) including identification of new donors, opportunities for increased gifts, and a refined corporate and foundation strategy for solicitation of ACCL $5,000 and above;
- Actively solicit for the annual fundraising goal with attention to quarterly deadlines to renew donors while reaching out to new prospective ACCL donors;
- Work collaboratively with Philanthropy Associate to manage timelines for appeal mailings (print and electronic); Monitor timely grant applications and report submissions; support coordination & progress tracking of solicitation lists aka “Call Lists”; and support quarterly analysis and progress reports on ACCL goals for board reporting;
- In concert with AVP, responsible for regular communication & coordination of volunteer leadership (co-chairs) and their contact lists for solicitation as applicable;
- Maintain protocols for donor notes & records in Salesforce to ensure accurate reporting and inform departmental activities; record notes of all donor meetings, next steps, & timely entry of activities;
- Work collaboratively to manage donor events, CL Forums and other cultivation events including, but not limited to, timelines, activities, deadlines, tracking and coordination of guest lists, invitation mailings and follow up correspondence, completing research briefings;
- Fields inquiries from prospects/donors via telephone, correspondence, and email; and
- Drafts general correspondence, other written communications and prepare development packets and other materials.

Preparation, Knowledge, Previous Experience:
- College degree or equivalent experience; and
- At least 10+ years of work experience with 7 years of direct fundraising experience; and
- Familiarity with annual campaigns, outreach, cultivation, and solicitation of donors.
Skills, Abilities, Competencies:
- Strong organizational skills and impeccable attention to detail and accuracy;

- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products - especially Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint;
- Database experience using Salesforce or an equivalent Customer Relations Management (CRM) platform strongly preferred;
