How an equitable place governance pilot is shifting power balances

The Boston Foundation's Place Leadership Network convened eight teams of place leaders from 2019 to 2020 to strengthen their place-governance practices and to foster more creative, culturally vibrant, and equitable communities. Boston Foundation Design Fellow F. Philip Barash, who oversaw the program, wrote about the program's inception, what came of it and what comes next for place leadership in Boston.

Bain Capital kicks in $2.5 million for Foundation for Business Equity

Bain has agreed to donate $2.5 million over five years to the Foundation for Business Equity. The donation is part of a broader effort that the Boston PE firm announced last summer to give out $100 million over 10 years to racial equity-related causes, following several high-profile examples of racial injustice.
