Boston Foundation awards $770,000 in funding to partner organizations and collaboratives

The Boston Foundation today announced it had awarded $770,000 in grants to organizations and collaboratives to meet critical needs of residents in 11 Greater Boston communities that are a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. The funds represent the first payouts of just under $2.5 million being pledged for distribution by the Boston Foundation, made possible by state funding.

Poll shows wide open race for Boston mayor; Wu, Janey have early edge

A poll of Boston voters conducted by The MassInc Polling Group last week shows that the race for mayor of Boston remains wide open as six candidates seek a four-year term as the city’s top political leader. The poll of 552 registered voters who live in the city was co-sponsored by the Dorchester Reporter, WBUR and The Boston Foundation and conducted between April 7-11.

WBUR poll shows Janey, Wu lead crowded Boston mayoral field, but race still in the early innings

A new poll shows Acting Mayor Kim Janey and City Councilor Michelle Wu are currently garnering more support than their rival mayoral candidates in what’s shaping up to be a crowded field, though nearly half the poll respondents said they were undecided in a race that’s still very much in the early stages. The poll of 552 registered Boston voters was conducted by WBUR, the Dorchester Reporter, MassINC, and the Boston Foundation.

The case study tells the Banneker’s remarkable story of school improvement and sustained excellence, describing how the school achieves success by creating an environment that celebrates and affirms the culture and identity of every student, family, and staff member.
