Kids in Need of Defense (KIND) wins $50,000 Out of the Blue grant from the Boston Foundation
.

Watch a video to see what happened when Boston Foundation President and CEO Paul Grogan called Kids in Need of Defense (KIND) to let them know they were receiving the Out of the Blue grant.

Since 2002, the Boston Foundation’s Board of Directors has awarded Out of the Blue grants to nonprofits every year.  During its Centennial year (2015) there will be no Out of the Blue grant awarded, but the program will resume in 2016. These unrestricted one-time grants recognize exemplary organizations that have an impressive history of accomplishment, have demonstrated effective and collaborative community leadership, and are directed by strong, stable executive and volunteer leadership.  This funding is awarded at the discretion of the Board based on staff recommendation and is not open to application or inquiry. Annual Out of the Blue grants will begin again during our 2016 Fiscal Year (July 1, 2015 – June 30, 2015).
