The Boston Foundation and the Crime and Justice Institute,  CORI: Balancing Individual Rights and Public Access (5/05): the challenges and opportunities for reform of the Criminal Offender Record Information System, Massachusetts’ computerized database of individuals arraigned on a criminal charge. Student Reports of Bullying: Results from the 2001 School Crime Supplement to the National Crime Victimization Survey, National Center for Education Statistics (7/05):  reports on the prevalence and nature of bullying as reported by students ages 12 through 18, with student characteristics, school characteristics, and victimization.

Fight Crime: Invest in Kids, Caught in the Crossfire: Arresting Gang Violence by Investing in Kids (6/04): case studies of youth intervention including the “Boston Miracle” in which youth homicides dropped by 2/3 with supervision, support and services for gang members.

Sentencing ProjectState Rates of Incarceration by Race (2004): in 2001, blacks were incarcerated at a rate seven times that of whites in Massachusetts. Sentencing Project Briefing Sheets include key facts about prison and prisoners, including racial and gender disparities.
