Research by The Boston Club, Bentley, and Mercer show improvements over the past year in the number of women directors of MA’s largest public companies, although overall their numbers remain low.
- 55% of companies in the Census have women on their board (an increase from 50% in 2003).
- Women continue to fill only 9.5% of board seats in the state's 100 largest public companies (an increase from 9% in 2003).
- Women of color occupy only 1.1% of the board seats in these companies.
