Associated Industries of Massachusetts (A.I.M.)'s Business Confidence Index was 58.6 for September, representing a fall of three points, but still above 50 - the threshold indicating that the state's employer community is generally optimistic. The index is based on a survey of A.I.M member companies across the Commonwealth, looking at current and prospective business conditions.
