Boston Foundation survey on giving trends, attitudes and motivators highlights strong support for arts funding

The Boston Foundation Cultural Task Force surveyed Bay State residents on nonprofit giving with emphasis on giving to arts organizations.  The telephone survey, conducted by the McCormack Institute at UMass-Boston, found that corporations contributing to nonprofit or arts organizations are viewed favorably and that a majority of respondents (78%) think it is important to live in a community whose corporations actively support the arts. The survey also concluded that residents “represent a significant contributor pool.”
